WHERE THE HECK AM I?

Recently visited a tropical island where I did all the good things that one should do on a tropical island: I walked and walked and walked; I swam and swam and swam; I ate and ate and ate; and yeah, I had myself a couple of tropical-island drinks, too.

Let's turn this into a contest. First person to identify this tropical island wins a free copy of BAJA FLORIDA. Or the e-book of your choice.

So let the guesses begin...

Looks like Yucatan. Playa del Carmen maybe?

San Francisco Beach, Cozumel?

Bonaire?

All three of you have the correct hemisphere ... but the wrong island. Plus, Jim, Playa del Carmen isn't an island, not to be a stickler or anything.

Morris ... please tell us you weren't at Cable Beach ... but that sure looks like Nassau way in the background. Could that be the Crystal Palace?

Isla Mujeres? It looks Mexican

OK, here are big hints: It's not Mexico. And it's not the Bahamas. Sorry, Roger, ixnay on Cable Beach.

I'm going with Cuba

Nope, not Cuba. Here's a hint. Look at the photo closely. You'll see a swimming pool. That pool is a big part of the island's name, in a nomenclature kind of way.

I got it! It's LIDO KEY!

We have a WINNER!

Yes, Renee, it's Lido Key. Looks like it could be way south in Caribbean, but I shot that photo when I was there last weekend.

By the way, the swimming pool was a hint because in the U.K. a swimming pool is known as a lido. The island gets its name from the public pool that John Ringling built there.

Renee, please email me at bobmorris@mac.com and I'll get the details for sending you a book.

I wouldn't have guessed it, even though I've been to Lido Key! It looks like something in the Caribbean!

Congrats to Renee. Bob, I just clicked on your website and saw that the Zack Chasteen series is not your only work! Now I have a list of books to find! Is Bahamarama related to the Zack series? I read Jamaica, first. Did I miss one?

Love the music on your site, by the way. It made me feel like I was truly in Jamaica, sipping a rum drink or climbing, like any good cruise ship tourist, the Falls at Ocho Rios!

Just finished reading the last published Zack Chasteen book and was intrigued enough to go looking for anything else you've written. Now I have a lot more to choose from. Thank you so much for the enjoyment your writing gives.

As a native Floridian, and a lifetime Gator and Dolphin fan, Zack Chasteen is my hero. Reading your books takes me to my favorite places. Looking forward to a new book.
