I was on Green Turtle Cay in the Bahamas a couple of weeks back and saw this sign in the window of the local bank. It's illustrative of the way this blog has operated for the past year or so. I've been keeping island banking hours. Meaning, Surrounded on Three Sides has been closed most of the time.Several reasons for this, the main one being that I was way behind on the next book and I felt guilty writing blog posts when I should have been writing the book. But I am proud to announce that A DEADLY SILVER SEA is finally done. I turned it in to Marc Resnick at St. Martin's last month and it will be out in early December. I'll soon be posting the cover which, like the title, is quite a departure from the previous books in the series. And I'll soon be sharing the opening chapter or two.
But all of this is just to say -- Surrounded on Three Sides is open once again. Thanks for visiting. And I hope to be keeping more regular hours. At least for the near future.

It's really good to see you are back. As a new fan I read all your books and drank some Dark 'N Stormy(s) to pass the time. It is hard to find ginger beer, but the good folks in Maine produce one called Capt'n Eli's.
Can't wait until the new book comes out!

As you probably know, Blue, the authentic Dark 'n Stormy calls for Barritt's ginger beer which is really tough to find. And there's a whole lot of difference between other brands. If I can't find Barritt's, I'm inclined just to pour the Gosling's into a glass, squeeze in some lime and say to hell with it.
